Experienced Architect
The practice was formed in 2000 and is based in the village of Wonersh, a couple of miles outside Guildford in Surrey. After working as a student on the 1972 Olympic site in Munich, Richard Faulkner started his career with the RIBA Gold Medal-winning architects Powell and Moya in the mid 1970s and was founding partner of TWF Architects which was formed in Soho in 1980.

Since the formation of Richard Faulkner Architects, the practice has concentrated on high quality residential work fro private clients, small development companies, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Government of Pakistan. We have also been involved in educational, commercial and public buildings.
We let the design solution and style for each project grow out of a combination of the unique context of the site and the individual requirements of the client. Although we find most clients look for a contemporary approach, we believe in the pursuit of design excellence rather than dogmatic adherence to a particular style.
Where appropriate, sustainability and minimum energy usage is a major consideration in the development of the design. Current projects employ passive solar gain, thermal storage, heat recovery ventilation systems, ground source heating systems, photovoltaics, rainwater harvesting and grey water recycling.
